Leather Care Guide
Leather is strong and long lasting, but it needs the right care to keep it looking its best. If you look after your leather jacket or travel bag properly, it will stay in great condition for years and develop a natural character over time.
Keep It Away From Excess Water
Leather does not respond well to too much moisture. If your jacket or bag gets slightly wet, gently pat it dry with a soft cloth. Leave it to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use a hair dryer or place it near a radiator, as direct heat can damage the leather.
Store It Correctly
Always hang your leather jacket on a wide, sturdy hanger to help it keep its shape. When storing bags, place them in a dust bag and keep them in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight, as this can cause the colour to fade.
Clean It Gently
For regular cleaning, use a soft dry cloth to remove dust. If deeper cleaning is needed, use a leather cleaner that is specifically made for leather products. Before applying any product, test it on a small hidden area first.
Condition the Leather
Leather benefits from occasional conditioning. Applying a leather conditioner every three to six months helps keep it soft and prevents it from drying out. Use a small amount and gently rub it in with a clean cloth.
Dealing With Minor Marks
Small marks and light scratches are normal with genuine leather. In some cases, gently rubbing the area with clean fingers can help reduce the appearance of minor marks. Over time, leather develops a natural patina, which adds to its character.
Travel Bag Care
Avoid overfilling your leather travel bag, as this can affect its shape. After travelling, wipe it clean and store it empty to help maintain its structure.
With the right care, your MIRLZAR leather piece will not only last, but it will look better with age.
